camping

Day before camping, the weather is completely screwed up, depressing, dreadful and all the exclamation it carries.

But as expected, the dawn of friday brought with itself a freshness of gentle breeze and heavy sunlight, the kind that makes devils cry and vampires die :). After much deliberated and concerted efforts of all the posse, we would assemble at my gurls place, with Bagel in one hand and coffee in another. The schedule time of departure, i believe, was missed by a puny 60 minutes largely contributed by the very adept packing of the car top by Vicky. With that great achievement on our hands we set to leave. We came to a couple of halts before the expected destination. The first Gas station, the short set back on money matters, as i had to pay 220 bucks, the maximum that i cud draw was only 200 at one time, for which it charged me 2 bucks service fee, and another 2 bucks for the balance 20. with coffee in our hands we left that place after half an hour.

It was not until 2 till we reached a place for lunch. Now, this place has KFC, Taco Bell, Roy Rogers, McDonalds. Since the choice for the herbivour community is exceptionally limited, we boldly entered the domain called the Taco Bell. well, i guess i was distracted by the variety of food they had on the menu but mostly becoz of the group of 4 gurls in extremely revealing clothes ( i guess the summer takes its toll on dresses).

we finally reach the campsite at about 4 something. Its a huge area with atleast 50 odd campsites, a lake and 5 to 8 trails for hiking/trekking. We get campsites 22 and 23. With expertise from almost everyone other that me and Akhil, the tents were set up in probably an hour after arrival.

Here starts the good part,
we started drinking at 6:10 and were drinking till 8 PM. With a lot of spirit (in body and mind) we started dinner, by the time we finished, i guess it was past midnight and with a couple of warnings about high decible levels and other decent noises, we slept. The night was cold as hell, but i guess everyone slept in their individual/respective sleeping bags, so it kept eveyone warm, well almost everyone :)

with very high alcohol content in our body, the second day started with Vijay (brother) and Akil making breakfast for everyone, the fun part is it started only by about 11 in the afternoon and witha long time for breakfast and coffee, we were all ready to hit showers by 1. The big dillemma was whether we shud do trekking or boating. when the dust settled, we decided its gotta be boating for the kind of weather we have. The lady at the reception was really really fast. Almost "Faster than a bunch of turtles, Stampeding through peanut butter". She tested everyones patience (be reminded not everyone has my level of patience).

We set to sail on a beautiful big lake under the beautiful and scorchin sun (guess he was scorching only for me). With my long legs exposed in my jean shorts, i guess it was a treat for the mosquitos and bugs. we went to other campsites which were on a rock island, and we also saw a couple of snakes, and that was more than good reason to leave that place.

Me being the romantic that i am, asked my lovely gurl to come with me to the lake again and this time, i promised her, i will take a smaller one, whcih i can steer without much complications. But as fate would have, it was darker at evening, with bugs mulitiplying faster than rabbits, and with a canoe the size of my bed, we were pushed to the cold water. In about 10 minutes time, we figured out that if both of us steer, exactly the way we were, we will continue to circle the place (emphasis "Continue"). so i took up the cudgels to steer and let my honey have a fun filled evening. but i left her and mostly my biceps (Yes, i Do have them). in a lot of pain. so i had to wake up a lot of people in the middle of the night to massage my Arm.

felt like a rider on the storm. As the song goes,
Riders on the storm
into this house we're born
into this world we're thrown
like a Dog without a bone
or actor out alone :)

me and latha made the veg dinner for that day, i had the easy task of heating MTR side dish and chapathi, while latha was busy looking pretty :), (well, those who know me, know that it was the other way around, except i cant look pretty)

the last day of stay, we started out with early breakfast and started to trek by 11. The trek was a lot of fun, following the water trail. almost fell once. But it looked more like a movie scene from Jackie chan or Jet li, with me and Vijay (Nissan) trying to balance each other on a tree trunk over the troubled water. Finally at the end of first trail, when we reached the beautiful pond, or so as we expected, it turned out to be a filthy bug filled swamp. we traced our way back to the parking lot. After a couple of Dum times from the gang, we came back and ate.

This is the most memorable part of the Camp. Capt. Prabhakar (alias used) had a BB gun (air gun) and everyone is shooting to a target in the woods. what we failed to realize is that, the big guys in the next camp site were shell shocked, awed, scared, dashed, daunted, frighten palled and afraid even. So they had the NY state trooper, a couple of forest rangers come over and inspect the site and as expected they took away the guns (though without any major repurcussions). last night was spent with other friends called absolute, chivas reagal and hose guerra (tequila)

come to think of it, we have finished about 2 liters of Scotch of Chivas reagal, 3 liters of Tequila, 1.2 liters of Vodka and about 50 bottles of beer and 12 bottles of smirnoff ice. not bad for a 3 day trip by 12 people, 3 to 4 are very light drinkers.

Photos soon!

we finally set back to the mundane, everyday of whatever everyone does by monday evening.

so now i am singing
"Father into your hands, i commend my spirit,
Father into your hands, why have you foresaken me
i dont think you trust in my self righteous suicide
and i cry when angels deserve to die"

we out,

vathsa

desperate

yeah,
like the Baton Rouge song
when the rain comes falling down and u r lonely and the night was colder
dont worry coz i'll be there for you :)
in my case, the person who doesn't have to worry is just me, coz i am on my side
confused???

let me throw some light on the matter
its me, the man on my side, so i guess the things are decent

ok
here is something that is eating my mind for quite sometime
when we know that the companies that are built to last, seldom change their core values, but constantly refine their operations, does it hold good for individuals as well.

a man of character and convictions, principles and beliefs who has never changed for anything not even for himself, is posed with a situation, how must he react??
i am known for my confidence to the point that i am said to be egoistic, frankly i love it, but when someone so close says leave your ego, it shakes my universe, somthing that will never be done.

funny thing happened on my break in my school,
i was busy gormandizing the delicious choc-chip cookies and gratifying myself with a little less flavored coffee, than usual, when all of a sudden i get an offer to make some money, legal way, and best of all, not much work.

This makes me think, i must have done something right, may be something so right, that even i dont know what it was :). but anyway, my policy, never say no to money, coffee and booze. so i accept the offer.

After a little bit of contemplating and much more exercising on the excel about my current situation, i might be able to take up my CPA afterall. A bold journey for a handsome warrior :)

destiny awaits
