around the city in 3 days! and more

its been quite sometime since i updated my blog!
looks like i have been really busy or just lazy,
so those of you who know me, know the truth :)

last week, for the long weekend, i had Hari, a friend of mine come over and stay with us in New york and that began the adventure i call, "Around the world in 3 days"

My friday evening started off with a very good Cigar and some good congac, with the flavor still lingering in my mouth, i wake up by 5:3o to pick up Hari on the 2nd of july at the ground zero. I get out of the subway and take a taxi to the destination, well, i get to meet a first pakistani guy in the US. yes, u guessed it, it was the driver. anyway, i pick up hari come directly to latha's place, get ready and leave for the flushing house.

During the course of next 3 days we get to see the Rosevelt island, the tramway, the UN, grand central, central park, world trade center (Ground zero), financial district, little italy, china town, statue of liberty, SOHO, empire state building and chrysler building. quite an achievement for 3 days of unplanned wandering. well, i am still expecting a link to yahoo photos by hari.

Last weekend, that is starting 9th of july we started moving latha's flushing house stuff to kew gardens, this place is fun. its about 10 to 15 mins drive when vijay drives it, when raj drives it back it takes about 45 mins :)

so here we are, all somari baddi maga's (lazy ass, in kannada) are up by 8 in the morning awaiting vijay's arrival in a big ass truck from budget. Here comes the man with a truck the size of a cricket matted pitch, probably a little longer. Everyone starts to load the truck and before u know it, it is half filled with everyone crying for a break. With some good idli and coffee and orange juice and cigarrettes (in some cases) people start working again. The truck is filled probably 90 to 95% with exceptional packing from Vicky. We set out to move. I tag alongside Vijay on the truck. its a wonderful feeling. you are literally on two lanes of the road and scaring the big jeepers out of all the other prevailing vehicles. Malediction onto the truck is almost non existent. we finish unloading the stuff by evening. Its fun trying to fit a long ass couch up 3 swirling stairs, with minor bruises and a lot of cursing and a little luck we get everything into the 3rd floor by about 5:30.

Me and vijay head back to latha's place and then again come back to the new house, YES you alrady know my routine by now, to play poker!
and YES, u know it, i lost this time as well, about 10 bucks :(
However i had a big one liter of beer to drown my sorrow in.

waiting for a change of season all the winter's been so long
searching for a rhyme or reason, i just have to move on!

well the soldier of the night, fighting for a right to party!

till then
vathsa
who else!
